Well, I was thoroughly spoilt for our first wedding anniversary- a perfect weekend away in the Peak District. Oh, and these beautiful stacking rings, from my favourite jewellery designer Mustard & Peaches.

 

Mr H and I have never had a weekend away where either one or both of us hasn't fallen ill. It's become a bit of an unwelcome tradition really.

This time round, it was my turn... But it didn't spoil our fun and we returned home feeling rested, relaxed and full of delicious food.

 

(I'll post the photos later, as  I haven't felt well enough to sort them out yet. Sob!)

Our wedding bands have landed!

After we made our wedding bands in Ireland a couple of weeks ago, we had a painstaking wait for them to be hallmarked. But today they arrived! (The postman must have thought I was a bit mad as I jumping up & down like a crazy person!)
They were carefully wrapped up in a beautiful package, with a lovely note from Mairi & some of the photos that Adam took.
Now I cannot wait for it to be on my finger! (But only 58 days to wait, eek!)

A very special weekend!

Last Friday, Steve & I set off for a much needed weekend away in Northern Ireland. But we weren't just going for the peace & quiet; we were going for a very special reason...

During New Designers 2012, I came across the most beautiful rings I had ever set my little eyes on! They were designed by the amazing Mairi Burrows, aka Mustard & Peaches.
It was one of those 'that is the one' moments so I knew then & there, that I wanted Mairi to make our wedding rings.
But she went one better than that... Mairi said we could make our wedding rings ourselves!

Mairi invited Steve & I to spend the weekend with her, & new husband Adam, in their idyllic cottage tucked away in the Northern Irish hills.

To sum up... It was absolutely amazing & I would recommend to every engaged couple in the world to consider this! (& surprisingly, the entire weekend worked out cheaper than getting the other rings we had considered)
